'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Galbraith continues clash with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith can't help but smile as he remembers the thrilling closing stages of his team's remarkable turnaround victory against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup. The encounter ended with Galbraith briefly donning a supporter's spectacles after the on-field celebration.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith struck the post with a speculative effort from distance, and his teammate quickly hammered in the deflection before racing off toward the crowd to revel in the moment, with fans congregating around the players.

Extraordinary Turnaround

This completed an incredible turnaround given the Welsh side had trailed 2-0 during the second half. Amid the euphoria, there was some collateral damage. He shared, "There was a spectator sort of calling out and we were wondering: 'What's he on about here?' Then we saw the glasses. It was a light-hearted moment putting them on. We are on the pitch as players but we're humans, too, so to have a bit of craic with the fans is always good."

Manchester City Challenge

The victory booked a next round match at home against the Premier League champions on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith ran close at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with Leyton Orient in February. Galbraith had an excellent perspective when his former team took the lead in spectacular fashion, with a teammate's first-time shot from about long distance going in via the bar and the Stefan Ortega. Many argued that it was credited as an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've given it to him for having a go from that far out," commented Galbraith, who started in midfield before shifting to right flank after the team changed tactics. That meant getting to grips with Jack Grealish, with whom he swapped shirts, and the winger was among the Manchester squad who paid tribute to the way Orient played positively.

Opponent's Class

"Fitness-wise they are exceptional but even the simple things and simple things, they can just do it over and over again," the midfielder notes. "It appears that they complete every delivery and they know how to control and take the sting out of a game. You can think you're holding your own and then abruptly they will just deliver a through ball past your midfield without you even seeing. You have to be alert at all times of the game. It takes a tough attitude and concentration just to stay in the game."

Swansea Move

Swansea were keen on Galbraith in January and secured his signature to secure him in the summer in a significant move. He established himself as a fans' favourite across a couple of years at Leyton Orient and has rapidly done the same in Wales. At the London club he reunited with Richie Wellens, who four years ago gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in first-team action on loan at his loan club from United. Then came a temporary move at lower division Salford City, before he permanently left his boyhood club.

Growth Journey

"I was likely a bit naive going into senior level. I think a lot of players would say under-23s football is entirely separate. Sometimes it appears play is circulated without much intensity. You see few hard challenges. Once you start playing first-team football you have to adjust fast."

Country Call-ups

He has shown that development for both domestically and internationally, excelling for his national side, who are fighting to qualify for the global tournament next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has been selected in the past five games, including home and away encounters against the German national team. Ian Baraclough, Galbraith's former international manager, offered the highest praise, saying he was Northern Ireland's "little Iniesta or Xavi" given how he handles the football and his ability to spot a killer pass.

Starting Out

This marks a remarkable path for the kid from the neighborhood in the Belfast suburb, just outside Belfast, who was raised observing his father, Stuart, also a central player, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Manchester United Experience

His sole appearance for United came in the away trip in 2019, a continental tournament trip to Astana, where they played on an artificial pitch and the stadium roof was shut owing to the weather of bitter cold. "This represented a long trip and it was cold out there," he comments, chuckling. "The week before, myself and quite a few of the young lads worked out jointly, so that assisted our preparation. Just to travel with the first team and get a couple of minutes at the end was amazing."

Departing Old Trafford

What was the challenge was it to move on from Old Trafford, the club he transferred from aged a teenager? "This turned out fairly simple, because I arrived at the moment where I realized I couldn't establish myself at first-team level. I'm hugely grateful for the years at the club but it reached a stage where I felt I required a fresh start, join a smaller club and play professional soccer. Now I'm slowly working my way back up."

Welsh Adaptation

This occurs during the early part of the afternoon at Swansea's Fairwood training base but Galbraith has a commitment at 5pm: a driving theory test, another progress toward getting on the road. Prior to relocating to the local area, the young professional was a frequent passenger in Swansea's so-called team minibus, a team vehicle driven by academy staff, the transport team, which ferries players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"It's myself Gonçalo Franco, Ronald, Malick Yalcouyé – a former passenger used to be in it but has got his license. It's nice to spend time with the teammates but I'm planning to be the next one to stop using the bus and driving. The Portuguese player likes to pull a few pranks; he's always up to all sorts."

Public Engagement

When he represented his former club, Galbraith would travel alongside supporters on public transport after starting his journey at Brentwood. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
